Simplicity at its finest is NOT what i would depict how my life was, nor would i suggest the continuation of my naivety however, as my life escalates into complexity, i hope to keep my optimistic hindsight on life in order to live. Just live. My personal ordeal is to live with no regrets, as though i will die tomorrow. I follow the path that will lead me to who I want to be: someone who people can confide in, to go to when they are in their deepest hour; that's who I want to be. That is my aim in life. Hobbies and interests make my path more flamboyant and enticing, while my family, pet, and friends are the reasons for my existence; the reasons why i try and improve myself. My lack of self motivation for change may be quite obvious, but it doesn't mean that improvement did not occur. It may be so petite, so small, that it's practically invisible, but i guarantee you, i do try. Indefinitely.

it's raining food

We had an extremely belated birthday BBQ for Johnny (15O5O9) and Julius (12O5O9) birthdays. I didn't actually know it was a birthday BBQ so I didn't get them anything xO I felt pretty bad about that. SORRY GUYS! Anyways, I made some new 11th grader friends, mostly from my school, and it was a pretty awesome party =). The party was at Johnny's house, which hard a pretty big backyard. We told jokes and scary stories around the bbq. The scary stories didn't turn out scary because the boys started laughing before it's even finished and Johnny actually had to go into his room to calm down HAHAHA! So, we decided to go to the park instead, and join up with the other half of the group.

The group.

Later on, we went to pick up Kimberly and Leanne. Since their parents didn't really like them going to a party full of boys, Julius made the girls help pick them up as well xO. I didn't mind, but it's just that it was raining and Johnny didn't have a heater at his house to warm up xO.

Sparkle bomb. The cake that Jenny bought for the birthday boys =). THANK YOU JENNY!
Kiko - Johnny's family dog.

The party was more lively as the night got darker, with food fights with Jenny's cake, sparkle bombs, water balloon fights (Minh kept on picking on me, and Julius chucked a water balloon at me and instead of popping, it hit my chest and bounced away xO! Stupid boys!), straightening Jimmy Le's naturally curly hair and dares. OH! I almost forgot. Since the boys cut touched the bottom of the cake with the knife, they had to kiss the closest opposite next to them. For Julius, it was obviously Leanne, but for Johnny, he had to kiss Tony ROLFS!!! The funny thing was that Johnny actually wanted Tony to stand next to him so he get to kiss him instead ROFLS! Yeah, it was a pretty wild party. Luckily, I didn't join in with the food fight. I would, but I took a shower before I arrived at the party, so no thanks hahaha! Johnny had a cute dog called Kiko! He's so adorable and friendly xD, so that also made my day too =). May I say thanks to Jenny for her cake (which is actually quite expensive) and Johnny's family for the hospitality and the food! So here's my message: HAPPY BELATED 16TH BIRTHDAYS JOHNNY AND JULIUS!!!

The birthday boys: Johnny and Julius!

PS. The science camp isn't happening tomorrow because the place we're going to is going to be used as a quarentine place for the swine flu xO ZOMG!!! Such Disappointment!

OMG! It's A ____ !

They were right when they said that year 12 will be your most unforgettable year - the dramas, the expenses, the festivals, the gatherings, the breakdowns, the pressure, the stress, etc. I don't think anyone's an exception to that and that's a good thing - we're in in this together! (This saying reminds me of High School Musical).

Lately, there have been more bad news than good news, or it's just that the bad news overshadows the good news? Anyways, lately there's been so many disappointments and dissatisfaction revolving the year 12s (including myself). For example, this year the photo business, which the school always order from, decided to change their style and let me tell you, it's CRAP! It's not the style that's crap, the design is actually quite stylish but they forgot their main purpose of their business: photos! The photos are now printed on the paper, it's only the grade photo (they decided not to include the grade portrait as they USUALLY do in the PREVIOUS years) and it's tiny! You can barely see the faces. Technically, the seniors haven't received theirs back yet, but we've seen the other grades' photos and we were just... disgusted? annoyed? I'd say disappointed.

Anyways, thank GOD good news' around the corner, I can see myself smiling my face off LOL! Due to confidentiality and loyalty reasons, I shall shush myself until the time is right, or when the person decides to announce the great news. Well, everyone knows about the good news anyways, they just aren't updated with it... yet! I'm so excited I think I might pee in my pants =) and hence, I MIGHT just need some nappies *hint* LOL! Okay, that's a pathetic attempt in giving clues. Ngeh, there's still more things to come, so I'll just update it when the time is right. Sayonara minna!

Flying Pigs

21O5O9 - Thi's 17th Birthday.
22O5O9 - Titan's 17th Birthday.
24O5O9 - Maylina's 17th Birthday.
25O5O9 - Cindy V.s' 17th Birthday.
27O5O9 - Kevin N.'s 16th Birthday.
28O5O9 - Peter D.1's 18th Birthday.

Jackie O': It is once said that pigs will fly when a black person becomes president. Barack Obama has been president for about 100 days and guess what? Swine flu!

I find that joke funny LOL! It IS kind of true. I mean, at the Easter Show they had flying pigs! Okay, so they weren't literally flying... but they were diving into a pool. Now, I dont know if I should be impressed or disgusted by what they are making animals do for the sake of our own entertainment, and business sales. Ngeh.

Anyways, it's been a pretty busy week I guess. I could've went to that Ext. English workshop or that careers/subjects expedition but no... I wasted my weekends doing almost nothing O_O! Well, I was supposed to go to that Senior First Aid workshop (for free, mind you!) but no, just not enough people came. Likewise with yesterday! So the workshop's canceled. Which part of free workshop do people DON'T understand? Come on people! We're in a recession! Might as well use the best of those free things the government's giving us! Oh, and I did some illegal driving. Not on purpose, of course. But it sure was fun! I was with Linh, she had to buy something for her piano tutee, the shop was closing down, there was no parking space, so i offered to take over and look like I'm waiting for a space, etc. etc. etc. Must I go on? Okay, maybe I do because that doesn't make sense as to how I end up driving around a block at Liverpool. Yeah, well the guy left and I had a space to park, BUT I didn't know how to park a car yet. I mean, come on 10 - 12 horus doesn't teach you much! I just know how to drive, not how to park xO! That reminds me, I have to ask my mum to teach me more. Anyways, this other car, on the other side of the road decided to stop in the the middle of the road as well, but unlike me, HE CAN DRIVE! Stupid jerk! Since I was blocking the left, and he was blocking the right, and the cars were honking their ass off, I was forced to move. SORRY for blockign the road people, I swear it was unintentional! I didn't even have my liscence on me. It wasn't even the proper plates! Linh's on her red Ps, while I'm on my Ls. It was freaken scary, but it was FUN! We went back and played guitar hero, including the drums and microphone, and I finally got the hang of it hahaha! I think I might be able to do medium level now HAHAHA! On guitars, I mean.

Anyways, school's been quite a drama lately, I don't even know where to start and hence, I won't =). We've been given a group work on Shakespeare, again. I don't mind. He's brilliant with his work, but sometimes his language can be hard to read and/or understand. This time, it's Katty, Annie, Bich and I. Hahaha! We purposely chose a small scene. Bich and I feel kind of bad for having Annie and Katty do most of the work O_o' I mean we offered, but everything's pretty much taken cared of. We just need to remember our lines now ^_^. Wells, it's better than the lines of Lady Macbeth, from the play Macbeth. Now THAT was a lot of lines O_O even after cutting so many lines down, it's STILL long xO! Oh! Guess what people? I dropped Chemistry! Yep, unbelievable. Now, I only have 11 units left xO My God, I'm going downhill aren't I? Well, I'll try my best to survive anyways xO!

Today's family dinner was pretty nice. My mum did the shouting this time, in celebration of regaining our house back. Gosh, I wonder if we'll ever get out of these debts quick enough to enjoy the rest of our lives. Ngeh, let's just not think pessimistically. Anyways, I think we socialized more today, and my mother and I actually spent some time over at my Aunt's house, conversing and all. My cousins are so nice! They are going to partially pay for my formal expenses and I've asked my cousin, Marina, to take me formal shopping when the time is right. I guess my family relations aren't so bad as before. Thanks to my cousin, William, and Auntie, they bought me souveniers when they were overseas (they were accessories and socks). I knew socks would always be a nice gift to give xD!

looking for Richard III

15O5O9 - Eric T.'s 17th Birthday.

No, I don't mean the movie/documentary 'Looking for Richard III' but as in literally looking for 'Richard III - the play' since Mr. Mckenzie led us the wrong way to the theater and hence, making us take the long way to the theater when it was suppose to be a 10 minutes walk. We started from Redfern, and we actually went up to McDonald Town! First, we waited for another 30 mintues for the train because we had to miss the initial one due to the people who were tardy and THEN we have to walk another 30 minutes just to get to the theatre (Mr. Mackenzie's fault - the funny thing was that he denied it. Typical of men... ROFLS!). It wasn't such a bad walk sicne the weather was so nice and warm, and there were quite a lot of dogs around on a walk with their owners =D so that made me happy. We made it to the theatre but we missed the first couple of scenes. That's okay since we've already read and analysed those scenes in class. The play, from CarriageWorks, was staged at Siren Theatre Co and is a MAKEbeLIVE productions which is directed and produced by Kate Gaul, co-producer is Clara Iaccarino. These were the actors and their roles in the play:
  1. Thomas Campbell - Richard
  2. Holly Austin - Lady Anne, Tyrell, Daughter of Clarence, Son of York, Prince of Wales
  3. Robert Jago - Rivers, Murderer, Stanley, Richmond
  4. Genevieve Mooy - Queen Margaret, Catesby, Duchess of York
  5. Catherine Terracini - Queen Elizabeth, Hastings
  6. Anthony Weir - Clarence, King Edward, Buckingham
The performance was quite entertaining in the sense of bringing black humour, irony and great acting on stage. I like Holly Austin and Thomas Campbell because both played excellently in their roles, but I think it's mostly because of the humour. Thomas Campbell is a really good actor in the sense of bring Richard alive on stage. Amazingly and conveniently enough, his left hand was already amputated off, which was appropriate for the play. They were all quite amazing and did a great job =). Majority of these actors were from N.I.D.A (the prestine college for performing arts of Australia), so they were pretty elite. For more information on the productions, visit this blogsite =). For a proper theare review on the play, read from this website. Below is a tralier of the play:

The most memorable part of the excursion was when the emergency bell went off ROFLMAOS! I think majority of the people thought it was actully part of the play until the words 'emergency' and 'please evacuate' rang out that we realised it was NOT part of the play. Amazingly enough, we were more surprise than panicky or frightened. I guess it was because we couldn't believe 'our luck' LOL! Now, the most memorable part of the play, for me, was the part where Richmond came out behind the curtains with the lights shining behind him. This scene just reminded us various movie scenes, e.g. The Terminator, alien related movies, etc. After the play, we obviously learnt our lesson and took the 'short-cut' back. At 2:30PM we were let off and BOY was I starving xO LOL!

PS. Ivana sure is a funny one LOL!

King Arthur, the Legend

14O5O9 - Kelly H.1's 17th Birthday.
14O4O9 - Mun Hong gor gor's 23rd Birthday.

Like what the title suggests - King Arthur, the legendary idol of in the Dark Ages, the era with the most scarce information provided. After watching the series The Adventures of Merlin (Merlin for short), I've decided to do some research about what have actually happened in the legend and this is what I've discovered:

Legend or History?
There have been numerous translations of the Legends of King Arthur and according to this website, the first work that mentioned Arthur was written by Nennius in the 9th Century. It was a paragraph written in Latin, which was thought to have been taken from an ancient Welsh story, regarding with the 12 great battles that were fought by Arthur. A collection of legends written in Brittany in their local language was the first evidence of Kin Arthur's stories however, by the middle of the 12th Century it was the work of Geoffrey of Monmouth, entitled Historia Britonum in 1135 AD, that provided the first real reference to King Arthur related legends. This was translated into Latin. After his work, the Norman chronicler Wace translated it into Norman French. Apparently, at the end of the 12th Century, a writer called Walter Map took their work and 'romaniticised' them into French prose. It is his version which we acknowledge the most. Alternatively, according to this, it was Chetien de Troyes and Malory who 'emblished' Geoffrey's work.

So how did it all start?
It was said that after the tragedy of the Night of the Long Knives, due to the betrayal of the Angles and Saxons against King Vortigern, Ambrosius Aurelianus became King. He consulted the wizard Merlin to help him choose an appropriate monument to raise to the dead chieftains and Merlin suggested to bring the King's Ring from Mount Killarus, in Ireland, back to England. Uther Pendragon, the King's brother, lead a group of soldiers to bring back the stones which Merlin then magically reconstructed the stone as Stonehenge around the burials of the dead British cheiftains. The King then died during the battle against the Saxons and hence, Uther became the King. According to this website, it was Merlin who created the Round Table at Carlisle where knights would be bound by the Oath to 'serve each other and their country with the most imperial manner possible.' Later on, Uther fell in love with Igrain, the wife of Gerlois, Duke of Tintadiel. In order to win Igrain, Uther made a deal with Merlin that if he helped him, obviously with magic, then their first born child would be his, which was Arthur. However, in this website, it suggested that Merlin only took Arthur
because he believed that during those difficult times, the child would be targetted by enemies since he was the heir to the throne. Either legend would lead to Arthur being in the care of Sir Ector. When King Uther died, Merlin purposely placed a special sword, the Caliburnus, and quoted "He who so ever draws forth this sword from the stone shall be the rightful king of English." Obviously, Arthur was the chosen one. However, during a battle the sword was broken and hence, The Lady of the Lake gave him a magical sword, the Excalibur, and a scabbard which is said to make him almost invincible. The Lady of the Lake was either referred to Nimue or Vivienne and was the scribe and lover of Merlin however, it was said that she eventually trapped him in a cave of uncertain territory. One version said that Arthur first fell in love with his half sister, Morgan le Fay, and had a son with her called Mordred but after realising the truth, shipped the child away. However, the child was then saved and came back later to attempt to take over Camelot. But before that, King Arthur fell in love again with Queen Quinevere, who then experienced adultry with one of the knights from the Round Table: Sir Lancelot. Later on, Sir Lancelot saved Queen Guinevere from being burned alive, by the orders of King Arthur, and eloped to France. Whether Mordred was Arthur's son or nephew, they met in the Battle of Camlann, which taken place at approximated 537 AD. Eventually Mordred died and Arthur was fatally wounded. He asked Sir Bedivere to throw the Excalibur into the lake, but another version said that Nimeu was obliged to take back the sword. In conclusion, Arthur was taken to Avalon, where 3 sorceresses takes him on a boat to an island in the lake, where he healed but eventually ended up dying.

It's amazing what you can learn from watching a drama series =). If I didn't get into Merlin, if I didn't already know bits and pieces of the legend already and if I didn't realise that the legend is altered, I wouldn't have been bothered with this research =) LOL!

PS. The font colour is red to represent the royalty of King Arthur.

how DOES she do it?

It's Mother's Day today, but it'll be other in another half an hour, so I better make this quick. The common thread that holds my mother and I together is that I have her D.N.A running through my veins and hence, I believed that it is just her duty to look after me and it is just an obligation to love me since I'm her daughter. My perception has not changed, however it have been bent a bit. It's been almost 18 years that we've been living together, and in just the last 6 years, and more, that we've been residing together. It makes me laugh every time I ponder about the times we've put up with each other - our flaws, our bad habits, our painfully similar perceptions and attitudes, etc. Yes, I am her daughter and she has her legal and traditional responsibilities over me. That's what I used to think it was all about. I stand corrected. I may not be a mother myself, but I can see how much she's changed to become a better mother, how much burden she's bothered to keep on her shoulders, how much dread and disappointment she endured because of me, and how much selfishness she put up with. For putting up with me mum, I thank you. I admit, I wasn't proud of her before nor did I think about her much - she was just someone I respect for bringing me to life, and looking after me all these years. If you asked me that question again now, about who my mum is to me, I would give you a different answer. This is how I would answer:

The bond between my mother and I was the kind which needed a lot of work and time in order for it to be strong and long lasting. Times been tough but the person I see my mother as is a person I've learn to deeply love, deeply respect, deeply appreciate and deeply proud of. She may not be a super mum, who works day in and day out to feed the children, not is she the kind who's out there saving others but I can guarantee you that she is lovable. She is one of the least selfish people I know, and she has a heart of silver gold. It isn't gold for she isn't saving strangers, but she empathises and tries to help to the best of her ability. It isn't silver because she deserves more than that. She is the purest form of jewelery there is, nothing less. She amazes me, that's why I love her, and always will.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MUM!

cure boredom with pain

It was our last. The last time to demonstrate our brawn over our brains. The last time for our patriotic side to conquer. The last time for us to perform for the sake of our respected house colours. The last time the school gets together, when we're still here, and not do work. Yes, it was our last athletics carnival. Alas, the carnival was seriously lacking the sense of commitment and entertainment. There were many casualties, and I happened to be one of them. I received two blows to the bottom part of my back - one from stupidity and the other from the attempt of doing high jump. Enjoy some of the pictures I've taken at the carnival (Kim has better photos if you'd like to view them):

left: the process; right: the masterpiece =) (Mr. Donohue - our year adviser)

Play nicely girls =) (Lisa L. & Cathleen)

Bunthi's endless attempts in showing his brawn.(1.Daryll; 2.David; 3.Peter)

My hopeless attempts at the carnival (1.shot put; 2.long jump; 3.high jump)

I'd like to comment on an individual who received the most serious injury out of all of us: Minhky. That brave, silly soul. Since I haven't seen the incident, I'll just have to recount based on other people who managed to witness this extraordinary occurrence. It was said that he was running seriously, though in the distance it looked like he was playing around, and couldn't stop properly and hence, he rolled forward and dislocated his left shoulder. The paramedics came and took him away to the Liverpool hospital where he was nursed and tendered with drugs, medications and bandages. According to Danny, he has borken his collar bone and according to Minhky, himself, he won't be back to school until about a week later. At the moment, he's home resting with his arm in a sling. I hope he'll get better soon!!! GOOD LUCKIES! He seems to be taking it easy. I thought he'd be in tears from the pain, but I guess the drugs stopped that from happening ROFLS! Good on you, Minhky =) !!!

OMG! I'm on TV!

GOT YOU! No, I'm not on television (thought I wish I am) but I'm on the next closest thing: VIDEO! A while ago, I was participating in a digital story-telling workshop. I would just like to say that we have finished our videos and I hope you can watch them via this site. The video below is a film I was in where I was the superhero! HAHAHA! I thought you'd like to have a a laugh about it. Enjoy the video!

Find more videos like this on All Around You

PS. I would like to thank Tuyet and Stuart, the filming crew, Andrew and Dean, the antagonists, and Elias, the director, for helping with the video! If it weren't for their hard efforts and their great skills, this video wouldn't be complete, or even made in the first place!

who is your 'perfect match' ?

One of the ways I cure myself from boredom is by doing quizzes from Facebook, or maybe it just helps increase my low self-esteem? Just a few minutes ago, I did a quiz called 'who is your perfect match?' and after reading the result, I thought it was quite interesting and I've decided to post it up here as well for a good laugh, and maybe something to look forward to HAHAHA!

Your Result: Intelligent Thinker
Your perfect match is someone who is kind, creative and quiet. This person is a thinker, someone who enjoys observing and analyzing the world. This type of person is content to let you do all the talking, yet is intelligent and bright and can contribute a wealth of knowledge to any conversation. While this person might seem aloof or even shy, once you get to know them, they are incredibly interesting, full of life and their serious side will compliment your more out-going nature. The top traits they are looking for in a mate include someone who is supportive, compassionate and understands their introverted nature. While this person might be somewhat skeptical that love exists because they are not big risk-takers and the choose their friends cautiously, deep down they are ready and eager to fall in love and will fall deeply for you, forming a deep and eternal bond.

ROFLMAOS! I'm thinking to myself, 'yeah right! As if I'd be that lucky to find someone like that =P.' Oh wells, maybe in the distant future, I might find someone for me? HAHAHA!
