Simplicity at its finest is NOT what i would depict how my life was, nor would i suggest the continuation of my naivety however, as my life escalates into complexity, i hope to keep my optimistic hindsight on life in order to live. Just live. My personal ordeal is to live with no regrets, as though i will die tomorrow. I follow the path that will lead me to who I want to be: someone who people can confide in, to go to when they are in their deepest hour; that's who I want to be. That is my aim in life. Hobbies and interests make my path more flamboyant and enticing, while my family, pet, and friends are the reasons for my existence; the reasons why i try and improve myself. My lack of self motivation for change may be quite obvious, but it doesn't mean that improvement did not occur. It may be so petite, so small, that it's practically invisible, but i guarantee you, i do try. Indefinitely.

O-week

23O21O - Danny K.'s 17th Birthday.
25O21O - Jenny K.'s 18th Birthday.
27O21O - Amy H.'s 20th Birthday.

Monday: It was my 2nd last bridging course and Kevin was nice enough to give me a tour of the university after class =). I had a fun time exploring the place though I preferred a cooler weather than a sunny 29 degrees Celsius.

After the tour, Kevin taught me how to play pool =D After an hour's worth of games, although Kevin wasn't the best pool player, versing against an amateur like me guaranteed him the wins of every game we played =P. It was a pretty fun day overall, so thanks Kevin for the tour and the game =).

Tuesday: YAY! My completion of my bridging course was rewarded with a certificate... and a survey. It was okay because class was an hour sort and the survey didn't take that long to finish =).

My next destination was my Nursing and Midwifrey faculty welcoming. I was an hour late, but the welcoming only lasted for 2 hours rather than the said 5 hours O_o. There I met up with Rebecca and I also discovered that Henry L. Tran was also doing the same course as me =D! YAY! I have a friend in my course =D! I don't think our timetable will be the same, but at least we're doing the same course together =D. Also, hopefully for next year's clinical nursing practices, I'll be able to adjust my timetable around to be in the same classes with Rebecca =D!

After the welcoming, Rebecca and I head off to the city to have lunch at Pepper Lunch before meeting up with Karen and Mimi at Kinokuniya. As we left the place, Mimi and I decided to go home while Karen and Rebecca decided to go karaoke. Another day over.

Wednesday: I know USYD's o-week was starting today, but I went to UNSW's o-week instead with Vicky, Eric and Julian instead =P. We missed the amazing race activity so we went on a tour around the campus instead =). I'm sure the amazing race would've been a really fun activity but I had fun playing the games/activities provided by the tour guides, so I guess it wasn't so bad missing out the race =). I must say, the freebies of UNSW is WAY better than USYD any day >=) Why? Free food.
It's funny how you ask the most questions when you're not even going here. - Vicky Fong.
Yes, I wonder too. The UNSW volunteer students kept asking me what course am I doing. I know it's a typical question to be answered by a UNSW student - but I'm NOT a UNSW student. So it always end up like this:

UNSW volunteer student: So, what course are you doing?
Fiona: Oh, I don't go here.
UNSW volunteer student: Oh, okay. What uni are you going to then?
Fiona: USYD. UNSW doesn't provide the course I'm doing.
UNSW volunteer student: Really? What course is that?
 Fiona: Nursing, so yeah ...
UNSW volunteer student: Oh, that's a shame ...

It always ended up with something along the lines of 'it's a shame that you can't go here.' Honestly, in junior years, I've always wanted to go to UNSW because both my cousins went there, but I thought it through. Just because they went doesn't mean I have to go there as well. Besides, the architecture of USYD captured my attention =P. It MAY be a silly reason to choose USYD but who cares. Here I am, a USYD student.

It was also nice seeing Nathan and Wilson =D. They were handing out V.I.P cards for Verandah Bar GAH! I should've done that too xO!!! I need to try harder with this promoting thing =_=!

Thursday: After experiencing a day of UNSW o-week, it's only right to experience my own uni's o-week as well. I met up with Kelly and we both went exploring =). I joined Access and got a free show bag =D. Luckily for Kelly, Kevin gave me his show bag token when he renewed his, so Kelly got a free show bag as well even though she didn't join Access =P. NO FREE FOOD >=( !!! But they provided Coke Zero. I still would've preferred food over drink.

Anyways, because I joined Access, I was able to join the uni clubs/societies as well =D! There were so many that I wanted to join but I didn't have enough money on me to pay for the membership fee. Hence, I was only able to join 2 clubs: SU Anime Society and Animal Welfare Society. Besides, I don't think I would've been able to go to all the club meetings if I joined to many.

We saw Vincent, Matthew and Tu around. Apparently, Tu and Matthew were also going to USYD as well =D YAY! More USYD friends =D. Oh, speaking of friends, I made a new friend, Danny, who used to go to Kelly's tutor =) YAY! Another friend =). Everything else was just freebie collecting and scabbing food from the free BBQs =).

Friday: Got tired of uni, so I stayed home instead =).

Saturday: Yesterday really wasn't my day =.=. My optometrist was out for lunch when I went there to get my glasses and I couldn't wait for them to come back because I had to catch the bus to Bankstown. Yes, which means there was track work that day as well =.=. Another thing was that the post office was closed >=( which means I couldn't ask them to check for my student ID tracking number xO!!! Uni's about to start and I STILL don't have my student ID! It's been about a month, or more, since I enrolled GRRR! I feel so angry!

Anyways, so why did Kelly and I need to go to Bankstown? It's because we were going for a job interview for Le Warp. Hopefully, we'll get the job. I feel like I signed away my social life when I wrote my name down... Yes, I know I've been searching for a job for months but since uni is going to start, my weekends will be my only free days to just relax or to see my high school friends. If I work on those days, my free time will be reduced to next to nothing *sigh*. I shouldn't worry =) I shall find a way to work around it. Besides, it's not definite that I'll get the job anyways. Still, wish me luck anyways =).

a toast to Hanhnie Hong

Dearest Hanh Hong Nguyen,

I hope you enjoyed your surprise today =). We all will miss you dearly when you move to Melbourne for dentistry. I wish you luck, happiness and success with your career, and your life in general. I also hope you'll be able to manage through the hardships of your course. Where ever your path will take you, I hope to see you again in the future =). You never know, you might become my family dentist ;). Anyways, if you ever need help, or just someone to talk to, you know your friends will always be here for you =). Enjoy and take care of yourself! I know this is not our last good bye, so I'll just say see you.
Sincerely yours,
Fiona Woo =).
So begins the next chapter of Hanh's life. Unfortunately, it's not in Sydney; it's in Melbourne =(. Hence, Christina organized a surprise dinner for Hanhat My Thuan restaurant, at Cabramatta, which was very sweet and thoughtful of her =). Although there were a lot of people at the dinner, it was sincere of Hanh to take her time to walk up to and talk to us individually =) aww how sweet of her =D. For some reason, the dinner seemed extra warm and fun today, even though there were a lot of people. Maybe it was just the weather >.> ... Anyways, THEY SERVE FREE-RANGED CHICKEN! I was extremely happy because I haven't had chicken in a long while =D. Also, the fact that Vicky couldn't poor a glass of water without pouring the ice onto the table was a funny sight to behold. Other things like Jennifer's smiley face stamp becoming Eric's weapon, toasts for trivial things, various assassinations of the bothersome flies and the plastic cups made the night quite eventful =). An extremely funny incident happened between Vicky and Edim =D. The thing was that Eric teased Vicky, so she chucked something at him, and in the process accidentally bumped her glass of water over. The water got onto Edim and then it went something like this:

Edim: Vicky, can you pass me some tissue because you made me wet.
Vicky: Oh... thank you, I didn't know you felt that way about me.

One word: LOL!!! We also played Chinese whispers and the process and outcome was quite amusing =). During the game, it kind of skipped Eric and I because we had a trivial dispute, and by the time it went back to Rebecka, who started it, it obviously didn't sound the same. Rebecka started with 'I have the hots for Hong' and it ended with David's 'alkjfajf jelly alkjd;f and prawns.' I'd tell you what the sentence was but I forgot; all i could remember was jelly and prawns. I guess it does sound similar: Hong... Prawns... =P. i asked Vicky what happened and apparently the whole sentenced changed to 'make it up' LOL! Yes, it's amusing how it started with the original, completely modified in the middle, then back to a similar sentence and the end.

Groupie.

After a couple of group photos and some more chit chat, I left home with Mimi because I still had things to do at home and I wasn't sure what else we were going to do. Thanks Mimi's brother, Andrew, for driving me home =).

PS. Thanks Hanh for the photos =)!

neighbourhood

Another week ended for my math bridging course *sigh* 2 days left. So again, to treat myself for finishing another week, I didn't go straight home. Went to Eric's house because he was late; he forgot to pack the duck, that he was giving Rebecca, into his bag. That silly billy =P. I do thank him for his hospitality though =) the mini slices of bread with raisins and butter was a nice snack. Then onward to Rebecca's house where we conversed a bit before heading home. I'm glad Rebecca's doing nursing with me, even if she is doing arts rather than health science. Hopefully, I'll be able to see her in my second year =). Anyways, Vicky came over to my house and we all had ice cream and berries while watching Get Backers =). (A/N: It's not berries ice cream, it's actually combining ice cream with slightly frozen berries together =D mmmms). Mum thought it was funny how we all have scooters =P. Old school ftw!

So Vincent's 1-year-old sister was having a birthday party today, and like any other Vincent-organized parties, the place got rowdy, noisy and quite fun =). The food was good, as usual =) though I think I should help with the BBQing next time .. i had to bite off half my nam neng off because it was burnt .. what a waste of food xO! It was nice seeing some old faces *coughKevincough* and new faces as well =). It's amazing how big Vincent's family is =D. I wish I'll have a big family too =D I don't know about wanting it being as big as Vincent's, but half of the size would be just as nice =). Thankfully, I live on the same street as Vincent, so I could arrive and leave whenever I want =D. Anyways, I would like to thank Sarina and Kelly for visiting me and helping me with my maths home work =P. Half of it is done, another half to go... *sigh*. Anyways, thanks for the party Vincent =). OH! Before I forget, I sincerely thank Vincent's grandma for the red pocket =). HAPPY CNY to you too!

Sunday 14 February 2010

work hard, party hard

14O21O - Thanh H.'s 18th Birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!

HAPPY CNY & VALENTINES EVERYONE =D !!!

So a few things happened this. For one, I finished one week of my maths bridging course YAY!!! Another 7 days to go ... Luckily, unlike UNSW, we don't have a test at the end of the course, and compared to UTS, our classes goes for every consecutive weekday while theirs is every day =D. On the plus side for UTS, their bridging course is for free =.= Lucky!

On Thursday night, I had a pre-CNY dinner at our usual restaurant. The food was good, as usual, but it seems like the service went downhill O_o. I think they need better waiters. Chit chat, here and there. Nothing interesting to mention. After dinner, Marina and I went back to her apartment (A?N: She's now living in with her brother, William) while William took our parents to run some tests on them for his Ph.D assignment. Ah, I sure love their apartment xD it's cosy, stylish and modern. When I have a house, I want it to be similar to theirs, though with a more family feel to it =).

After Friday's lessons, I met up with Jessica and her niece, Cian, and did a bit of shopping with them =D. I had fun 'testing' my nails with the samples =D (A/N: don't you just love shops and their testers? It was convenient for me because I was going to go clubbing the next night and the theme is red =D). I think the sales people are annoyed with me now .. ^_^'.

Also it's been ages since I took capitols =D Though taking photos is fun, you can't actually stick it on things, make the photo smaller or even decorate =P ahh, I sure miss those days where we spend plenty money on miniature sticker photos *sarcasm* But I wouldn't mind taking them once in a while for fun =). It's one of the best ways to kill time at the city when you have nothing to do =). We also when to Prize Paradize and I must say, Cian is quite good at skills testers =D She got a bag full of toys all by yourself =D. Speaking of Cian, she is such a funny, talkative girl =).

Cian: a;klsdfja;sfkjsadf it's like a g-string for your feet. akfja;dfkjad uncomfortable to wear a;ksdfja;sfd rain and gets dirty.
Jessica: Yeah, that's why it's called a thong!
Jessica and I laughed.

Cian's mother, Jessica's sister, was such a warm person =D She hugged and thank me straight away for taking care of her daughter hahaha xD She's more welcoming than most Asian parents. Well, she IS a designer, so she would be less conventional that older Asian parents. Then Jessica and I trained it back home. It took longer than expected because we apparently took the wrong train, so we had to change trains =.=. Oh, and the weather for that day? RETARDED! Extremely hot at first, and then raining hard afterward =.= It's like the calm before the storm, literally.

Saturday night came; it was time to party >=). First stop was to Peter D1.'s farewell party. He's going to Thailand for a gap year =D. I wish I could travel to Thailand! I hope he'll take care of himself anyways =D and have heaps of fun! I couldn't stay long because I had to catch the train to get to Veranda Bar early (A/N: I'm a promoter for them, so if you're planning to go clubbing, don't be shy to ask me about it =D I can even provide you V.I.P cards!). Overall, I had fun socialising and catching up with everyone from school. It's amazing to see Brandon there hahaha =D I never realised how connected he was >=D. I wish I stayed longer because I'm sure I missed out heaps of  things that must've happened after I left =(. Still, thanks for the invitation Peter =D.

It sucks that I missed the limited stops train by 30 seconds =.= and hence, Vicky and I waited another 20 minutes for the next limited stops train. Although we made it to the club before 10:30PM, we got in afterward so she had to pay $20 =(. On the positive side, we got a free rose YAY! For both of us, it was our first clubbing experience, so we weren't sure what to do. The place was definitely clean, with strong security, so that was a good thing. Tables and walls were decorated with rose petals and cardboard love hears, strongly emphasizing the red in CNY/Valentines.

I met a few friends and the club, which I know were under my guest list, so I definitely know I made some money that night xD YAY! I also received a red pocket from Vinson by wishing him 'Cong Hai Fa Choi' =D. I wished it was money, but it was a free drink coupon, DAMNIT! I should've used it on the night as well lol! Thanks anyways =). Though, I did use the one I received another one from Wilfred, my team leader =D thank you! I'd tell you what I ordered, but I don't remember the name. All I remember from the description the bar tender gave us was 'pineapple' and 'not that alcoholic' =P. I had a sip of each of the drinks Kenny had and the only ones I remembered was vodka with redbull and Jack Danielles. I thought the vodka with redbull tasted nice =P. There was even one that tasted like cough medicine O_o. My team leaders wanted to get me wasted but luckily, I didn't. I only stumbled a bit because my feet was aching from all the dancing LOL! I think I need more practice with the heels. Though, I do wish I took photos last night but none of us had a camera that night =.= . I was wearing glittery, silver eyeliner =D IT WAS SO SHINY!!! Oh, and note to self: buy contacts earlier. I ended up wearing my glasses because my optometrist closed early for CNY and Vicky didn't let me not wear my glasses because she didn't want me to walk blindly around the club. Photos can be viewed from this website (facebook page of the CEO of the club xP).

I saw Nathan =D YAY!!! But I didn't see his date NO!!! Well, hopefully there will be a next time =). I managed to make a couple of new friends =D which is a good thing because being a promoter for a club means increasing your social networks and improving your social skills =P. I need to get tips of Nathan because he's a natural at this =D. Hopefully, he'll get off probation soon so he could help me xD !!!

There were a few interesting things that happened at the club, but I'll just leave it blank hehehe =). It'll only be between Vicky and I. If you're desperate, then you can ask me, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'll definitely tell you =P. Hint: alcohol - induced males.

Me, Vicky, Kevin and Diana.
Michael, me and Vicky.

The only thing I regret is not being able to have a CNY eve dinner with my family =(. I haven't had one in AGES. I know I said we had a pre-CNY dinner, but this one is actually at my Aunt's house, where the parents do the cooking. My mum went but unfortunately, I didn't =(. Hopefully, there will be another one next year.

Captain Fantastic wants his beer, pronto!

1OO21O - Mark's 18th Birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
11O21O - Raymond T.'s 18th Birthday.
12O21O - Rebecca C.'s 18th Birthday.

You know I got you good Thanh xD !!! You so believed that the beer I promised you was actually the beer image on your birthday card HAHAHA! But I kept my promise; I got you the Heiniken you wanted oh so desperately xD. Anyways, I hope had an awesome time on your first ever  birthday outing =). Though I must say, organize it better next time =.=! Oh, and I would like to apologize and thank Kelly, Vicky, Eric and Thanh for making the cake which I was suppose to make for Thanh, but because I have a bridging course now =.= I couldn't. Though, I shouldn't have expected much, because although they made the cake, they forgot the sugar. So, it was pretty much a salty cake... brilliant guys, brilliant. Out of all the things you forget, you forget the sugar lol!

Groupie =). HB Thanh =).

There was Pepper Lunch, Prize Paradize and even Myers. I've never realised how many levels there were at Myers O_o. I've always thought that there were only 2 or 3 levels, so I had fun exploring =D. I liked it when we were chatting online on the sample DS's, even though we were practically facing each other HAHAHA! We also had a trip down memory lane at the children's book section =). Apparently, from the Mr.Men and Little Misses, I'm Little Miss Whoops, who is the sister of Mr. Bump LOL! But I prefer Mr. bump better =) because he looks cuter xD.
Hello, I'm Little Miss Fiona WHOOPS =).
 LEGO!!!
 DS chat anyone?

Time Zone air hockey =).

Back to Central, to Capitol Square, where we feasted on Korean food. To be honest, I think I'm slowly getting sick of Asian cuisine because, after all, I've been eating it for most of my life - except for rice cakes with chili sauce >=D. You can NEVER get sick of those because they are OH SO GOOD!!! Then it was park time =). Eric, that funny guy, lit up a "sparkler bomb" and chucked it at Thanh as a birthday present LOL! The look on his face was priceless! But don't worry, it wasn't real =). Another funny incident was when Minhky made a mini sparkler bomb and Eric lit it up.
"Wha - What are you doing?! AH! AH! AH!" - Minhky Le.
Luckily Minh pulled the sparkling one away from the others, or else we might've end up with only one eye brow left or something =P. Though, the second time, Minhky tied it to a pole and boy did it blind us O_O! I still prefer the bigger versions =). Ah, good day =). Oh, and thanks to Stanley for driving us home =).

Since the previous day was so good, we continued it at his house today =). Well, not exactly all of us LOL! Just Eric, Vicky and I. This time, Thanh and I made a cake, but not from scratch like yesterday. Again, Vicky and Eric played Army of Two while we baked, except yesterday was Kelly and Thanh. I tried playing it but ... I don't like the screen >=(. We pretty much baked a cake, ate it and played Army of Two. Okay, it was more like Vicky and I were watching Eric and Thanh play, but it was still cool watching virtual heads getting blown to oblivion xD! Anyways, HAPPY PRE-BIRTHDAY THANH =). Don't worry, I'll email you a birthday email on your actual birthday =).

PS. Thanks for the scooter and headphones Thanh =).
PSS. Congratulations to Michael for getting the Rebel job =).
PSSS. Congratulations to Peter D.2 for getting his red Ps =D YAY!!!
PSSSS. Thanks Mark for the photos =).

birthday parties x 2

O7O21O - Katty's, Samantha's and Sandy's 18th Birthdays. HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU GUYS =D !!!
O8O21O - Alice C.K.'s 18th Birthday.

It was Rebecca's 18th birthday party yesterday YAY and I'm proud to say that I made it there ALIVE and ALONE. Thank you Sergey M. Brin and Lawrence E. Page for inventing Google maps xD. It took me a while to get there, and I was beginning to doubt myself and my sense of direction, but thankfully, I saw Nigel with his car parked outside a house YAY!!! I didn't get lost like you all expect me too YAY!!!

For once, I won a game in mahjong WOOT WOOT!!! Though, I really should praise Elaine and her skills. She was winning 6 out of 7 games in a row! What a pro hahaha. Alas, the wind came and blew her luck to Derek's side hahaha. Tough luck Elaine =). Although mahjong is fun, I would like to learn how to play the jenga mahjong next hahaha it looks just as fun as well =D. Maybe I should buy myself a mahjong set as well hms... By the way, applause for Rebecca and Karen and their ability to sing Korean songs *clap clap clap* !!! The rest of us well, we tried but ... it was epic fail LOL! There was also Singstar too, but I think the mic for it was kind of weird... O_o I think I'll just stick with karaoke thanks =).

Mahjong.
 Singstar.

Unfortunately, 2 things happened which I wish hadn't. I had to leave Rebecca's party for a while, in order to meet Julie and hand her the birthday present. The sad part was I couldn't celebrate Julie 18th with her because I wouldn't know how to get home afterward. I do hope she had a great time still! Anyways, the second thing was I missed out Rebecca's cake moment awwwww T_T. I wished I was there =(. Oh, I would like to thank Derek for giving me a lift to and from the station =D. It was also funny how when I left Derek's car, I met Hong and Rebecka on the way to the party lol. It was a shame that they JUST missed Derek because he could've given a lift back to the party =P.

Groupie. Wish I was there xO.

Rebecca and her birthday cake =).

I would like to say that I really liked the fried rice and curry fish tofu YEAH my favourites =D. Thank you Rebecca, and her family, for the invitation, hospitality and food =D. Ah, I hope Rebecca will like her present because I wasn't sure what to get her xO and I couldn't really find any duck related things, that wasn't a toy, so I got her a novelty instead. Speaking of presents, I hope Julie likes her present as well xO!

HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY REBECCA, JULIE, KATTY, SAND and SAMATHA!!!

Before I finish off, I would like to, once again, thank Derek for driving us back to our suburbs =D. Sorry it was such a bother xO ! (A/N: It was funny how Derek thought he dropped us at Chesterhill Station when he actually dropped us off at Regents Park Station LOL!). Also, again, I would like to Thank VIcky's parents for driving me home! Ah, I sure owe them.

PS. Thanks David for the photos.
PSS. Ah... I'm sick again =.=.

Wednesday 3 February 2010

check, check and check

This will be an extremely short blog post because I'm moody and I'm not bothered; I'll just list down the things I've managed to accomplish in the last few days:
  • Finally got my free swine flu injection.
  • Had a blood test for my health check.
  • Bought 2 vests for $30.
  • Bought new shoes (children size 3 =.='; screw me and my small feet).
  • Bought a new school/outing bag.
  • Bought birthday presents and cards.
  • Went driving =.= gah.
Before I end this, I would like to congratulate Eric for finally getting his L's and for donating blood for the first time =). Oh, and by the way, thanks for the sushi guys =).
