Simplicity at its finest is NOT what i would depict how my life was, nor would i suggest the continuation of my naivety however, as my life escalates into complexity, i hope to keep my optimistic hindsight on life in order to live. Just live. My personal ordeal is to live with no regrets, as though i will die tomorrow. I follow the path that will lead me to who I want to be: someone who people can confide in, to go to when they are in their deepest hour; that's who I want to be. That is my aim in life. Hobbies and interests make my path more flamboyant and enticing, while my family, pet, and friends are the reasons for my existence; the reasons why i try and improve myself. My lack of self motivation for change may be quite obvious, but it doesn't mean that improvement did not occur. It may be so petite, so small, that it's practically invisible, but i guarantee you, i do try. Indefinitely.

being memorable can be defined as good AND bad

28O71O - 妈妈 's Birthday.
3OO71O - Jessica P.'s 19th Birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY WOMAN =D!

Out of my 70 hours of legit driving, I've only properly driven at night once, and it was the night when I drove mum to Granville RSL Club for a buffet dinner. Let me say, besides the fact that the raining did not ease my discomfort with driving during nightfall, but the food was really not worth it. Yes, it was a buffet. Yes, there was a variety of food. And yes, it was an offer of pay for two people for the price of one; but no, it was not of good quality. I like eating, but I must say I was quite disappointed. That is all I'm going to say about their food. By the way, please don't mix seafood and oily food together, they'll just upset your stomach ...

On another note, may I say what an excellent job Christopher Nolan did with Inception? Linh and I went to watch it the other night and it kept my glue to my seat. Now, I don't know if you would feel the same way as I did about the movie, but I do highly recommend it. I would rate it a 8-9/10. Rather than writing my hindsight about it, I'd rather not spoilt it. So I'll just provide you the trailer instead =). Next stop, hopefully Toys Story 3 =).

By the way, I'm back at uni again. It was only just last week that I was still on holidays ... *sigh* one month of holidays was just too short - compared to the three months holiday we had after HSC that is. Anyways, yes I chose psychology again. It's not so bad. Just the fact that we have completely different lecturers except for Caleb, our Stats. lecturer *sigh*. This time, he's teaching Cognitive processes. Why, oh why, couldn't we have Lisa, our social psychologist lecturer, again? Ah, I guess it's not so bad. At least he's better than the Human Development lecturer. Speaking of lecturers, we have a young, recently graduated, from our university, handsome, Korean man as one of our psychology lecturers =D. He teaches perception, so it's a pretty fun topic to learn about *sigh*. He makes up for our HSBH1009 lecturer; an Indian woman with a very strong accent. Seriously! There's no point of having lectopia if you can't even understand her. If you can't understand her the first time, listening to her 100 times again isn't going to make it any easier. Anyways, my other elective is an online subject and... let's just leave it as that =). You don't need to know what it's about ahahah... Anyways,  I should stop here, I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow. Ciao!

spontaneous bowling

*ring ring* *ring ring*
 Fiona: Hey.
Linh: Hey, you wanna go bowling?
Fiona: What?
My Linh in the background, screaming: Fiona! Let's go bowling!!!
Everyone laughed.
Linh: Yeah, wanna go bowling?
Fiona: Now?
Linh: Yeah, I'll shout!
Fiona: *laughs* Okay, I'll get ready.
Linh: Okay, we'll be there at 9:30.
Fiona: Okay, bye.
Linh: Bye.

This was one of those times where spontaneity was proven to be a good thing. Of course, if it was a uni night, I don't I would've agreed. Then again, I'm not the time to usually say no anyways =). So in half an hour's time, Linh drove us to Fairfield's AMF bowling. Oddly enough, My Linh was acting really high lol! She said she wasn't under any influence, but I don't know; it seemed very suspicious ... ahahaha. Using our charm and charismatic personalities, we got ourselves a game with children price/person, which was $10 =D. We only had enough money for one game, but that's enough for one night =). There we met Jimmy and Danny and their friends. Apparently, they were already on their 4th or 5th game O_O. They must really like bowling.

After halfway through the game, My Linh went to ask for bumpers. Now, it was already embarrassing to play so badly in front of the guys, but to have assistance as well, as though we were amateurs, was just downright mortifying! I guess it wasn't so bad because we improved a lot, but still >.

With the results, Linh won first, then Sandra, then me and lastly, My Linh. We chose a song from the jukebox but since it was taking so long, we left before it even played our song. Oh wells =). I guess my Thursday night turned out to be quite eventful =).

out with the old and in with the new

My new baby, the Samsung Star!

To be honest, I'm not a fan of touch phones, but hey! If you don't give everything a go, you'll be living a regretful life! Besides, mum bought it already so it's too late to exchange it for a new one. Anyways, I quite like the games. I also like the fact that I can import songs and pictures on it and change them as my ring tones and wallpapers =D. Although the camera's only 3.2 megapixels, it's the closest thing I have to a camera. So all in all, it's a pretty good phone =). I welcome you to my world =D.

new worlds and superstitions

Ah! What another late blog xD Sorry everyone! Anyways, a week ago, Edim had an extremely late birthday outing to the city. The plan was to watch 'Karate Kid,' eat and then the kiddies roam free to do whatever they want. Tardy old me couldn't make it to the movies *sigh*, so I joined them for lunch instead =).

Since I didn't watch the movie, I can't comment much about it but according to the others, there seemed to be mix messages. Some liked it, others were indifferent and the rest thought it was really bad and somewhat disappointing. Hmms, I guess the title kind of gave away the disappointment. Afterall, it's not Karate Kid anymore if the movie's located in China; many believe that it should be called 'Kungfu Kid' instead.

Lunch was at the food court beneath Townhall station. I had curry and dessert was Susan's vegan chocolate bars and cookies =D. We pretty much sat there, chatting and stealing food from one another. Edim received a lot of sweets as gifts from girls =). Lee Ching, Edim's friend, even bought chocolate from Switzerland just for Edim =D. Or maybe she just had some left over or something .. xD just joking! But lucky Edim, Switzerland is famous for their chocolate =D. I mean, the famous Lindt originated from there after all =D.

Speaking of chocolate, while walking back from our trip to Circular Quay, Susan and I were left behind for talking too much. But it was okay because I had fun exploring the city with her =). We even found a chocolate story called 'Haigh's Chocolates!' I never even knew such a place existed =D. It's actually a pretty sophisticated and expensive shop; a small box of champagne truffles was ~ $7 !!! Then again, there IS alcohol in it... Anyways, I bought a small bag of assorted fruit drops and 2 bars of Macadamia crunch. The assorted fruit drops reminded me of those lollies I had in primary school. They were fruit drops covered in white sugary powder and packaged in a flat, cylinder tin. I asked many of my friends if they remembered that confectionery, but barely anyone remembered =/. It's quite a shame really, because it was really delicious and sweet.

Oh, before I forget, Susan and I never got to buy a scratchy when we turned 18th so we thought we'd buy one that day. The cost of scratchies went up by 10 cents =/ they used to be $1. Apparently, it was good luck to scratch with a gold coin. I guess the superstition's kind of true. Susan scratched hers with a 5 cents coin, because she didn't have a spare gold coin, and she won nothing. I scratched mine with a $2 coin and I won a free scratchy ticket =D. I know it's nothing, but hey! It's better than nothing right?

dolphins are praying for a saviour

Please watch The Cove because it is definitely worth your time. It's about a team of activities who combined forces with filmmakers and freedivers to make this movie in order to make the public aware of what's going on in the environmental world because they have the right to know. Continuously, a small number of people have been slaughtering dolphins and whales as an excuse for decline of seafood in the sea. Also, the public doesn't seem to be aware of this morally wrong doings due to the cover ups of governments and medias. Because of this movie, people because more aware of the situation that until now, there have finally been some improvements in this situation. It was a good thing that rkaufmann uploaded this video because it has opened my eyes, so I thank him/her for doing it. According to him/her, this movie is:

Academy Award® Winner for Best Documentary of 2009, THE COVE follows an elite team of activists, filmmakers and freedivers as they embark on a covert mission to penetrate a remote and hidden cove in Taiji, Japan, shining a light on a dark and deadly secret. Utilizing state-of-the-art techniques, including hidden microphones and cameras in fake rocks, the team uncovers how this small seaside village serves as a horrifying microcosm of massive ecological crimes happening worldwide. The result is a provocative mix of investigative journalism, eco-adventure and arresting imagery, adding up to an unforgettable story that has inspired audiences worldwide to action.

THE COVE is directed by Louie Psihoyos and produced by Paula DuPré Pesmen and Fisher Stevens. The film is written by Mark Monroe. The executive producer is Jim Clark and the co-producer is Olivia Ahnemann.

- rkaufmann.

They're asking for a helping hand, and so am I. Please help and save the dolphins and whales by stopping this in the most peaceful way as possible.

sticky sand, chilling water and an erratic sky

Years ago, I would be thinking who would be crazy enough to go to the beach in Winter because I sure wouldn't. Well, I ended up going to Palm beach, on a chilly day of Winter with a group of friends. Technically, it wasn't Palm beach, but we were close enough anyways =).

Getting up and catching the train by 8:08AM wasn't my ideal time of waking up. Like my mum said, I wouldn't even wake up that early for school, let alone an outing. Then again, school's a place to work, while going out could be a potentially fun adventure =).

We stayed at Wynard station for while to stack up some food for the trip. There were chips, coke, water, lollies, cups and serviettes. Maybe we should've bought some hot food as well. It was nice of Derek to make some fairy bread for us =D! I haven't had fairy bread in YEARS! Thanks to him, I get to revisit my childhood =). We had some breakfast at Maccas before heading onto the bus. It was a good  thing that we did because the bus ride was 1 1/2 hours long. I had fun playing 'Doodle God' on Mark's i-Touch =D! It's one awesome game! Thanks Mark =).

During the trip, we passed by many beaches, admiring the beauty of it all. We were all hoping that Palm beach would surpass our expectations. It not quite did, but it was just as good. Wendy was so considerate as to bring along a tent ahahah =D. It was pretty fun putting it up. It was a shame that Kenneth backed out at the end because he was supposed to bring the vortex and frisbee with him =(. No Kenny, no beach games. Or so I thought. Although we had no balls to play with, we had the sand, the water and the warm, bright sky to make it all enjoyable. We wrote on the sand with our feet; we jumped around, kicking and splashing water around; we had fun eating and chatting; we ran around to keep ourselves warm; we had sand castle battles to see who could make the best sand castle (the sandcastle that Mimi, Hanh and I made looked like a hobit hole... or a piece of crap, literally ROFLS!); we even played bullrush and stuck-in-the-mud combined.

Alas, all good things come to an end when the rain started to pour harder. Everyone went to change or clean up, except for Wendy and Derek who stayed back to pack up the tent. Silly Wendy. She went to wash her feet and thongs but a huge wave came in and took her thongs away. She went out to get it but couldn't, so Derek went out to get it for her instead. Awww =). Anyways, while we waited for the bus, we were playing word games like rhyming words or thinking of 10 body parts with only 3 letters in them. That was hard =/. Well, I couldn't stand not knowing the answer, so I googled it =). They were:
  1. eye
  2. ear
  3. lip
  4. hip
  5. toe
  6. rib
  7. jaw
  8. arm
  9. leg
  10. gum

YEAH! Anyways, on the trip back, everyone was just chatting and laughing at Thanh's videos and stuff. Eric and I were both tired, so we dozed off. Well, I was just resting my eyes, so I could still kind of hear what everyone was saying. There was a part of the conversation which was very funny. The girls were talking about scenarios with relationships and stuff, then the boys started to get involved. Thanh was speaking out his mind about not minding being a girl's 50th, as long as she likes him back, but Wendy took it literally and said 'but she'll be all saggy!' ROFLMAOS!!! She was thinking age-wise, while everyone else knew Thanh was thinking about dating-wise. She's so adorably ignorant =). Well, they do say 'ignorant is bliss.'

When we got back to the city, we made a pit stop at QVB before going to Pepper Lunch for dinner. Well, the majority of us had Pepper Lunch, while Minhky, Thanh and Eric went to Hungry Jacks. Pepper Lunch now have Wagyu Beef!!! IT'S THE BEST TYPE OF MEAT TO EAT WHEN BBQING!!! It's so buttery and warm and soft ... *drools* that $15 meal was worth it =D. After dinner, we left to Gloria Jeans for some more chit-chat. Gradually, people started leaving and unfortunately, I was one of the people who left earlier. I wish I said bye to everyone before I left, but I was at Time Zone with Eric before I got a call from Mimi to go home with her. Thanks to her older brother, I managed to have a short nap in the car before arriving home. It was better to be in a warm car than outside after all =). Oh, and thanks to Mimi for letting me be driven home by her brother. Anyways, I guess that nap wasn't enough because I was so tired from the outing that I went to sleep straight away, at 6:30PM, and I didn't wake up until morning! I had a great day out Wendy, thanks for organizing it and thanks for inviting me =).

PS. I was stupid enough to give the sea an opportunity to devour my Samsung X660. I've had a long journey with you, 3 1/2 years. Even after all those dropped and whacks and hits, you still lived on, although my sim cards didn't. You've done well over those years. I'll miss you. Goodbye.

R.I.P O8O61O SAMSUNG X660.

행복

행복 by Super Junior

(No Other) by Super Junior (슈퍼주니어)

Baby
사 랑한단 너의 말에 세상을 다 가진 난 You & I, You’re so fine 너 같은 사람 있을까
사랑해 오, 내게는 오직 너뿐이란 걸 바보 같은 나에게는

singing note

Last Sunday, Kelly, Adam, Paz's sister and I watched and cheered Paz on for her singing performance at Cabravale Diggers. It was only a heat, but she was so good that she made it into the semi-finals; she came FIRST =D !!! Whoever said to 'leave the best for last' was definitely correct! When watching the other contestants, there some pretty good singers, and then there were some not so good singers... I know it's disrespectful to leave during a performance, but there was one that was so bad that I couldn't help but leave on purpose. I say that because there were times when I was force to leave when my mum called.

Anyways, Paz was just amazing! She practically blew our minds away =D. If only I recorded her singing! I took a couple of photos with my mobile, but of course I couldn't upload them or anything. Besides, the megapixels on it was crap anyways. Still, I took them for memories =). I hope to keep cheering her on for the semi-finals, and hopefully the finals as well =D. The songs she sang were 'Someone like you,' by Linda Eder, 'Son of a Preacher Man' by Dusty Springfield and 'I Dream a Dream' by Susan Boyle.

Anyways, that's it for now =). I'll try to be consistent with my blogs =D.

memories of an 18 people group outing

Ah, screw Ichiban and their selfishness and laziness =.=.

On the last day of June, Wednesday, we had a get together dinner at Ichiban. Unfortunately, they couldn't sit ~18 together so the girls went in first. The boys (+ Waye and Susan) came in after. Well, if you excluded the negative aspects, the food was good and filling and the company was great =D. YOU MUST TRY THE LEMON SPIDER DRINK !!! How the vanilla icecream just melts in your mouth, while the fizziness of the lemon cider just bubbles gentle between your tongue, teeth and cheeks, and the clinking of the ice cubes ringing in your ears like the sound of summer... *drools* Don't you just love spider drinks =D? I felt quite bad when I couldn't finish my ramen =/. Sure it was a big bowl but still, when I eat at restaurants I almost never not finish my meal =/. It's a waste of food and money after all.

The night didn't end there. After dinner, everyone made their way to Gelatissimo. While eating dessert, everyone just caught up with everyone else who they couldn't during dinner. I know it's Winter and all, but that didn't stop everyone from eating something cold =). I'm not into eating cold things during Winter, but who could resist dessert? Hence, while everyone had their own cup/cone of gelato, Mimi and I shared a 2 scoops cup together =). Raspberry and cherry. I think i liked the raspberry flavour more =).

Next stop was Kingpin Bowling. I took them to the are where you could see the harbour side. There, we just sat around and chatted. Some of us went to play pool, while others went exploring. Gradually, people started leaving but the majority of us stayed back to play arcade games =). It's been a while since I played Daytona hahaha =). Mimi beat me =). I also played this motorbike game and let me tell you, I'm never going to be a motorcyclist =P. I can't even start up  OR accelerate a bike!

PS. Although contortionists are usually female, I think they can make it an exception for Edim LOL!
PSS. It was great to see Hanh and Derek again =D.
PSSS. Thanks for the photo Hanh =).

Fiarfield City's Award Night

I must say I was disappointed. Yes, it was great to see different people receive such outstanding awards. Yes, it was great to see familiar faces which I haven't seen in a while. Yes, the good actually tasted good. Yes, there was live musical performances from Fairvale High school. And yes, we got free DVDs about the Bring It On Festival. BUT it was less lively.

I liked last's BBQ for the volunteers. Besides the food, WHICH I helped buy and cook, but people seemed closer. It was more fun than this year's certificate night. Also, everyone received recognition for volunteering. This year, okay it was good that the volunteers that did extra work got the recognition, but everyone else was forgotten. It would've been better if everyone was given some recognition and that those who did more received 'more recognition.' I don't know, that's just my opinion.

Also, they should've had more food =/. Everyone was hungry and there were quite a few guests, so the food ran out quite quickly. But what about the people who helped out with the event? They had to pack everything up and all, so they were the last ones to reach the food platters. I felt quite bad for them. There was barely any food left for them to chew on =/. They should've save themselves a couple of platters.

I hope this doesn't happen again for next year's certificate night =/. I don't know if I want to volunteer again for next year's Bring It On Festival either >.<. Ngeh.

angry birds and big spiders

On the last Saturday of June, we had a family dinner at out usual restaurant, the Golden Seafood Restaurant. To be honest, I thought the food was a bit disappointing, though it didn't really matter. I was having more fun enjoying the company of my family and playing 'Angry Birds' with my cousin on his i-Touch. It was such an addictive game. We were so into it that my other cousin, Marina, had to tell us off for playing games during dinner time. I guess she was right because, after all, it was a celebration dinner for my Aunt's birthday.

After the celebration dinner, my mum and I followed Marina and her boyfriend, Andrew, back to her car to be driven back to William's new apartment. Apparently, Andrew's  the son of a family friend from Melbourne. Years ago, when we were going to Tasmania, we stopped at their house for a couple of days. According to Marina and Andrew, I used to follow them around, asking them to play with me. I don't remember that. The only think I remember was the family dog and a young chubby boy. I don't remember the boy's face though. Well, the chubby boy turned out to be Andrew. It was odd to see him again, out of the blues and all. Not bad, just odd =P.

I digressed. William followed the rest of the family back to my Aunt's car to drive them back to his apartment. At first I thought he bought a new 'house.' It was actually an apartment and there was only one room on the top level O_o. Yes, odd right? The rest of his house was downstairs. Marina was living with him, so her room was downstairs as well. Hector had his own dog house on the balcony. Spoiled dog >.<. Apparently, he was left outside when my cousins went to work, but slept with William at night. It seems like he was still adapting to his new home because he didn't bark at us when we entered, like he usually do. He didn't run around as much either. It was a nice change to have a quiet Hector for once =).

His taste in furniture was quite good, and with Marina's sense of style, they decorated the apartment with a contemporary sense of  design. I especially liked the decorative tree with pinned up photographs of France. There were still a bit more packing up to do, but at least the place's clean, thanks to Auntie. After William bought the apartment, Aunt stayed over o clean stuff out from both the old and new apartment. To be honest, I like the old apartment better because it's smaller. Then again, the technology at the new apartment does fascinate me. There was this cupboard where when you open it, the lights will ope, but when you close it the lights will close. I know because I was left inside =P. Don't worry, there was plenty of room =).

So after about an hour of complimenting and checking out the apartment, it was finally time to go. This time, I was left with Marina and Andrew while my mum left with the rest of the family. We were going to meet up at the petrol station at Broadway see that my Aunt will know her way back home. Just after we drove out of the parking lot, Andrew started swearing and Marina started .. whimpering? I didn't know what was going on but Marina began to move to the backseat, where I was, so that Andrew can get out of the car from the driver's side. Apparently, there was a huge brown spider hiding in the gap of the window side and it decided to come out after all this time. Andrew went out to kill it. I saw him killing it, but I didn't see the spider. Better that I didn't anyways. I'm not a huge fan of spiders. While inside, I had a good time scaring Marina LOL! Maybe I shouldn't have because after the incident, Marina didn't speak for the rest of the trip... It was still hilarious though =P. I didn't realise she was this scared of spiders. When we met up again and I left to the other car, the family saw me smiling and giggling. I told them about it and they laughed as well. They also told me that both William and Marina were extremely afraid of spiders (arachnophobia). Ah, I should've known. The animal encyclopedia books that they used to give me had the spider pages clipped together. It's been a while since I enjoyed family dinners this much =).
