Simplicity at its finest is NOT what i would depict how my life was, nor would i suggest the continuation of my naivety however, as my life escalates into complexity, i hope to keep my optimistic hindsight on life in order to live. Just live. My personal ordeal is to live with no regrets, as though i will die tomorrow. I follow the path that will lead me to who I want to be: someone who people can confide in, to go to when they are in their deepest hour; that's who I want to be. That is my aim in life. Hobbies and interests make my path more flamboyant and enticing, while my family, pet, and friends are the reasons for my existence; the reasons why i try and improve myself. My lack of self motivation for change may be quite obvious, but it doesn't mean that improvement did not occur. It may be so petite, so small, that it's practically invisible, but i guarantee you, i do try. Indefinitely.

picky about blood

1OO91O - Susan's 19th Birthday.
11O91O - Wai's 19th Birthday. Happy Birthday Wai =D !!!

Is it that hard to give blood? The firs time I did, it  took me 4 weeks before I could finally give blood. My second attempt was proven futile when they said I didn't weigh enough to give blood (ages 16-17 have to be x>50kg to give blood), and then yesterday was my 3rd futile attempt in giving blood; I didn't have a big meal 3 hours beforehand and hence, wasn't allowed to give blood. Fortunately, I reached my weight goal; I am now 45kg =D yay! However, when I went to measure myself, I was 2cm shorter than I thought I was *sigh*. In high school, I was 155cm, but yesterday I was 153 cm T_T. I still think something was wrong with the measuring tape, there is no way that I shrunk. The people who did donate blood were Eric, Stanley and Linh. Linda came along with Linh, but she couldn't donate because she was sick from the previous week.

After the donation, Linh and Linda went their separate ways from us. We lately met up with Mimi at Galaxy World, at Market City. I can't believe Eric and Stanley wasted $25 each on tokens! You can eat 2 meals with that! Still, it was nice of them to share some of their tokens with Mimi and I. I SAW TVB CELEBRITIES!!! They were promoting something about TVB. I'd name them, but I don't know their English names. There were also Japanese models promoting this clothing shop somewhere near Chinatown. Wow, it was strange seeing so many celebrities in on day =).

On the way to a restaurant, we bumped into Minhky, Wai, Susan and Thanh. It was Susan's birthday yesterday and they were going to watch Despicable Me and eat. We talked a bit, walked around a bit, and then went our separate ways. We couldn't eat together because their movie started at 7PM. Oh, speaking dinner, a funny conversation occurred between the guys.

Thanh: I feel like Korean.
Minhky: Okay... *laughs*
Eric: Okay, you hold him down.
Minhky: *laughs harder* Good one! I was going to say that.

They said that because Thanh now looked like a Korean with his blond hair LOL! Anyways, we went to a Korean restaurant called Kobow. The food's not bad there and it was really filling. We ate and made criticism about the Korean live music performances that they were showing on their television screens. Vicky and Vincent came just when we finished our food. We just sat at the restaurant, to let our stomachs settle, before heading out to Chinatown's night markets. We had some desserts before heading back to Galaxy World again. I thought it was pretty fun to play with everyone like that =). It wasn't until around 9:30PM before we started heading back home. On the way to the train station, we were playing around with a blue dog plushie that no one wanted to keep - who ever was to have it last by the end of the night was the loser. Not that it was ugly or something, but we were just too old to keep plushies anymore; well, for me I just had too many to keep another one. My mum's planning to chuck my plushies away *sigh*. Although Vicky was clever enough to chuck it at Stanley when he got on the train, unfortunately, we met up with him when he got onto our train at Lidcombe station. He took the first train because Eric was lonely, but he actually was suppose to take the same train as us. Seeing that I was power napping, he stuffed it next to me. I end up giving it to Mimi and hence, Mimi was the last person to leave with it lol =P.

It was a long day, and night. Thanks to Vicky for driving me home.

PS. I should give blood before my weight goes back down again >.

eating your worth

Last Sunday was my birthday dinner at TK Something BBQ, located at Canley Vale. Big thanks to Kelly, Sarina, Edim, Eric, Thanh, Jessica, Ian, Shirley L., Mark, Susan, Linh, Minhky, Joes and Danny for coming and indulging themselves with me.

To be honest, $26.50 for a Korean BBQ buffet is a tad expensive, but hey, the food wasn't so bad and the desserts were really good too. Well, amateur food critics, like myself, wouldn't know the difference between good food and bad food, but according to Shirley, she said that the desserts wasn't the best. Well, she'd know best since she's tried a lot of desserts before. But that's okay; since I'm not a food critic, as long as it's edible, I don't mind eating it =). It was also a shame that we couldn't move all the tables together. Somehow, I have the tendency to choose restaurants which separates people *sigh*. It wasn't that the table can't be moved, but the ventilation machines above the tables that couldn't be moved. We were given 3 tables, where the 1st table had 6 people, 2nd table had 5, and the last table had 4. Although the table I was sitting at had 6 people, and although Eric was ordering quite a lot of food, compared to the table of boys next to us, it was nothing. Apparently, they at least ordered 4x plates of each type of meat/seafood. You'd think it's impossible, but 1. they're boys, and 2. if you knew them as well as I did, you will know it's definitely possible.

So a couple of things happened that I thought was intriguing:

  1. Eric likes ordering a lot of food, then again, all guys do.
  2. Kelly really likes putting food on the grill even if there's no space left.
  3. Although Eric and I were making Edim eat a lot, he still beat me and finished eating before me, which was a first.
Edim said he was eating on behalf of Derek as well lol. Well, I was quite proud of him to eat so much and managed to finish before me as well. Honestly, I wish I finished eating the desserts as well but I need to leave space for the cake. Unfortunately, it wasn't mango because mangoes aren't in season during Winter, and if I was to order a mango cake, it would've been expensive. Speaking of cakes, Thanh and I had a short and funny conversation during dinner.

Thanh: Is your cake the shape of a meme?
Fiona: How can you get a cake shaped into a meme?
Thanh: It's meme.
Fiona: I said meme.
Thanh: Ah, well there's all sorts of memes.
Fiona: What's an example of a shape of a meme?
Thanh: You.
Fiona: Ah. It's too expensive.
Thanh: So you're calling yourself cheap?
Fiona first had a confused look on her face, then started laughing a couple of seconds later.
Fiona: Yeah, I'm cheap.

I think the most interesting and memorable thing about the dinner was when we were lighting up my cake. What happened was that I wanted to light up my own candles, but Eric also wanted to light then up too. I blew out his match sticks, and he blew out mine. The process repeated a couple of times. Then the others, like Kelly and Minhky, joined in in blowing out my matchsticks before I could even light up the candles. Shirley tried to help me light it up, but it didn't really work. There was one time when I tried to protect the candles from being blown out  by covering it from the others, as I lift up my hands, it created a small breeze which blew out the candles *sigh* lol. After a couple of minutes of futile attempts in lighting up the candles, the others finally stopped hindering and allowed me to light it up, make my wish and blow out the candles. The situation was pretty funny. I felt helpless, but I couldn't help laugh along with everyone else =).

It was unfortunately that a couple of people couldn't make it, but many thanks to those who did. I especially want to thank Jessica, for baking me mango-flavoured cupcakes, penguin shaped lollies and card; Susan, for baking me home-made vegan chocolate cookies and the drawing of me; Cindy, for coming to see me although she couldn't make it to the dinner, for the bouquet of flowers and the card; Sarina, for the adorable plushie which she said reminded her of me; Thanh, for coming even though he was sick; and Linh for driving me home and letting me put my presents into her car. I would also like to thank Mum for buying me the cake.

I had a great time eating and spending time with everyone. I hope everyone enjoyed  themselves as well =). Once again, THANK YOU FOR COMING!

PS. I would like to thank Paz and MG for their birthday presents. They got me gifts even though they couldn't make it to dinner.
