Thanh got killa'd

On the 24th of March, Friday, we had a small gathering at Carramar's Killa Girll and Thanh took up the Killa Kage challenge, where he was required to eat a huge burger, huge fries, huge coke and icecream all in an hour. Alas, he attempt was futile.

Ah, there's nothing much to talk about besides Thanh's non-existent achievement =3. It' wasn't so bad; he managed just over half way of the burger. We had fun just socialising, eating and taking random photos, though I must say our group's quite indecisive sometimes. It took us 10 minutes to decide where to go afterward, then another 10 to figure out who drives who and who's going where. Some of us were driven to the station, while the rest of us were driven to Thanh's house, either by Nigel or Kenny. Many thanks to Nigel since I was in his car. After 2 minutes on the road, I finally realised that he got a new car =D. It wasn't the vintage, red car anymore. Not exactly his own property (family car) but it was still cool. 

More sociolisation occurred at Thanh's house, with a bit of gaming and playing with musical instruments. Although he moved houses, I seriously thought he was being sarcastic about moving next door. Seeing that I was so sure that he was being sarcastic, I was quite surprised when I reached the door of his house. I didn't know if I should laugh or feel confused. Hence, I did both, if that made sense. It was around 10 PM when Mimi's brother drove us home. Many thanks to him for driving us so many times. Well, me in particular.

Wicked is the new Good

On the 22nd of September, Wednesday, it was my first time watching a musical. I've been to threatre plays and all, but never a musical. I'm glad I did, even though it was $86.70 (including handling fees) because it was definitely worth.

What was the musical, you might ask? it was 'Wicked.' What can I say, it's the epitome of anything that defines wicked - no! It's beyond any definition because there are no words that can describe the awesomeness of the musical =D. It's a shame that it's over now, but they will be showing at Brisbane at the beginning of next year. As much as I loved it, I'm not sure if I'm willing to travel all the way to Brisbane to watch it again. 

Out of the two Elphabas, we got Jemma Rix who, I thought, did a great job in portraying her character. To be honest, I thought Glinda (played by Lucy Durack) was an annoying character but I love her lines because they're hilarious =D. I admit that her voice was quite good, but I still like Rix's voice better. Also, compared to the original Elphaba from San Francisco, Idina Menzel, I still prefer the Sydney's Elphaba, but I do like the voice of Kristin Chenoweth (Glinda) better than Sydney's Glinda. To be honest, initially I thought that if they actors were to sing, they would just focus solely on singing however; they actually included their acting into their singing. I was quite surprised and amazed by their talent. No wonder 'Wicked' was rated 5 stars. To be honest, I think the voice of James Smith (Boq) was much better than Tim Campbell (Fiyero), but who am I to comment about the casting. AH! What surprised me was to see Bert Newton (Wizard) perform because although I knew he did a lot of acting on television, I never expected him to be singing on stage =S. How shocking. Anyways, I was going to do some research and write about it on my blog, but I'm not bothered, because there's always wikipedia.org =3 just search up 'Wicked (musical)' and you'll find it.

The story itself was such a great plot with a very sad twist. It really did open my eyes to fairy tales - never take things at face value; don't judge a book by it's cover; etc. It was just like a movie I watched about Jack and the beanstalk. It was live action movie with a twist to the story. I thought it was pretty interesting. Man, Kinokuniya was selling two books in one (Wicked and Son of a Witch [sequel]) for $25. I should've bought one for myself =.=! Anyways, back to the musical, I cried when they were singing 'For Good.' It was such a great and sad song! Now, almost every time I listen to it I cry >.<

The architecture of Capitol Theatre is commendable; the interior design looked a lot like Old England if you ask me. I especially liked the lamp posts. Why there are lamp posts inside buildings, I have no idea. I guess they replaced indoor lights =S. The toilet's quite clean too. Why I mentioned that, I have no idea. Moving on, Kelly and I gave our belated presents to Susan as an apology for not going to her birthday dinner. I gave her a Korean drama called 'You're Beautiful' and Kelly gave her a box full of paint samples from Bunnings. When I said 'a box full', I seriously mean 'a box full.' I mean, there were barely any gaps. According to Kelly, there were ~300 samples of them. Why did Kelly get Susan that? Simple. It's what Susan wanted =). Anyways, I had a great night watching a musical with Linh, Kelly and Susan. Thank you Susan, for giving us drinks and the photos, and Linh, for driving us home. Well,  for driving me there as well =3. Oh, we actually met a high school friend that night. Apparently, it was his second time watching it =D and he was generous enough to let us take a photo with his colouful martini glass =). Later on, on Facebook, I found out that a couple more friends also watched it on the same night as us , but we weren't lucky enough to bump into each other. Oh wells =P.

picky about blood

1OO91O - Susan's 19th Birthday.

Is it that hard to give blood? The firs time I did, it  took me 4 weeks before I could finally give blood. My second attempt was proven futile when they said I didn't weigh enough to give blood (ages 16-17 have to be x>50kg to give blood), and then yesterday was my 3rd futile attempt in giving blood; I didn't have a big meal 3 hours beforehand and hence, wasn't allowed to give blood. Fortunately, I reached my weight goal; I am now 45kg =D yay! However, when I went to measure myself, I was 2cm shorter than I thought I was *sigh*. In high school, I was 155cm, but yesterday I was 153 cm T_T. I still think something was wrong with the measuring tape, there is no way that I shrunk. The people who did donate blood were Eric, Stanley and Linh. Linda came along with Linh, but she couldn't donate because she was sick from the previous week. 

After the donation, Linh and Linda went their separate ways from us. We lately met up with Mimi at Galaxy World, at Market City. I can't believe Eric and Stanley wasted $25 each on tokens! You can eat 2 meals with that! Still, it was nice of them to share some of their tokens with Mimi and I. I SAW TVB CELEBRITIES!!! They were promoting something about TVB. I'd name them, but I don't know their English names. There were also Japanese models promoting this clothing shop somewhere near Chinatown. Wow, it was strange seeing so many celebrities in on day =).

On the way to a restaurant, we bumped into Minhky, Wai, Susan and Thanh. It was Susan's birthday yesterday and they were going to watch Despicable Me and eat. We talked a bit, walked around a bit, and then went our separate ways. We couldn't eat together because their movie started at 7PM. Oh, speaking dinner, a funny conversation occurred between the guys.

Thanh: I feel like Korean.

Minhky: Okay... *laughs*

Eric: Okay, you hold him down.

Minhky: *laughs harder* Good one! I was going to say that.

They said that because Thanh now looked like a Korean with his blond hair LOL! Anyways, we went to a Korean restaurant called Kobow. The food's not bad there and it was really filling. We ate and made criticism about the Korean live music performances that they were showing on their television screens. Vicky and Vincent came just when we finished our food. We just sat at the restaurant, to let our stomachs settle, before heading out to Chinatown's night markets. We had some desserts before heading back to Galaxy World again. I thought it was pretty fun to play with everyone like that =). It wasn't until around 9:30PM before we started heading back home. On the way to the train station, we were playing around with a blue dog plushie that no one wanted to keep - who ever was to have it last by the end of the night was the loser. Not that it was ugly or something, but we were just too old to keep plushies anymore; well, for me I just had too many to keep another one. My mum's planning to chuck my plushies away *sigh*. Although Vicky was clever enough to chuck it at Stanley when he got on the train, unfortunately, we met up with him when he got onto our train at Lidcombe station. He took the first train because Eric was lonely, but he actually was suppose to take the same train as us. Seeing that I was power napping, he stuffed it next to me. I end up giving it to Mimi and hence, Mimi was the last person to leave with it lol =P. 

It was a long day, and night. Thanks to Vicky for driving me home. 

PS. I should give blood before my weight goes back down again >.
